Happy Accident

We don't own Tangled yet, and this is what has made me hesitate. It seems like a landmark moment in many girls lives when they chop their own hair to the dismay of their parents. She started the job, and then we found a professional to finish it. My wife and I agree-it turned out awesome. We finally found a hair style that fits her personality. Sunday

I hope you don't think we dress our kids up formally for photos all the time, they are usually just super cute on Sunday mornings before church.

Backyard in Spring

Here are some of the flowers in our back yard. LOVE having a back yard!

We also have some wildlife. These two ducks were hanging around for several days. They were too afraid of us to be fed though. Here's one of them.

And then yesterday we saw these big birds, like five or six of them, all standing around, when all of a sudden we see this black dog chasing a duck! (look closely at the 2nd photo) He scared them all away.

Mini Reunion

We had a little get together with some of my Uncles I hadn't seen in a decade! The kids were spoiled with sweets and hugs and kisses. It was a lot of fun and will be a cherished time.

Rain Rain Go Away

About a month ago we had some insane rain pour down on our city.

Around 2pm my wife and I noticed that our back patio was filling up rather quickly. We luckily caught it in time before we left to go out of town or the house would have been flooded. We spent the next 5 hours fighting the water, using 16 gallon plastic bins to catch some of the water and give some space to the drains that were clogged while directed the water elsewhere. We don't have gutters to direct the water to drains that are working. It was a lot of trial and error, but we survived the worst of it and slept the rest of the night with one eye open.

Using a drain snake and plunger we were able to retrieve 11 small balls and two matchboxes from the drains.

Here are some of the other miscellaneous things we have found in our back yard. My favorite is that spiderman shell! How cool is that???

New Place

Well, after looking for a couple of years we finally found a bigger place to live. Things were getting a little crowded and now we have some space!

Here are the little ones waking up the first morning.

Goodbye Goldielocks

His hair was getting too long, so we finally had it cut. People had recently started calling him a girl again. I think he looks like a big boy now.

Sleepy

I was walking back and forth getting everyone food during lunch. I passed by the table and saw this. He had moved his plate out of the way and laid his head on his hands.

I had to look very closely. I wasn't sure if he was sad or mad or hurt. I couldn't believe it--he had fallen asleep. He has never done that before.

I had Steve get the camera to capture the moment.

New Blanket

I bought a couple of new blankets from the flea market...that sounds weird. They were military blankets, pretty awesome looking.

I got the chair he is sitting on from a garage sale. It is a little kid rocking chair. I'll try and get a better picture of it later.

Another Shoot

We decided to takes some more photos of them being cute one Sunday morning.

Okay, I instigated this one. I had them do cute little poses. They were pretty cooperative, but not necessarily at the same time. I guess I am still learning how to time the shot just right.
