The last of our summer pictures before the little girl starts kindergarten.
We decided to take a trip to Las Vegas. Don't ask me why. We figured it would be an easy trip distance wise and there'd be plenty of free things to see. Turned out my wife and I weren't feeling very good and we watched a lot of the Olympics on our hotel room television, ha ha. Oh well. We still managed to get out each day and just take our time going around to different things.
First things first. Keep in mind we wanted a 'cheap' trip, so...we checked out this place, from one of my favorite shows.
Do you remember the episode with this Unimog? I so want a Unimog ~sigh ~
It was pretty cool, despite what everyone was saying about it being too small, crowded, and just full of show merchandise. I don't care about that. I just wanted to see the shop! And I even caught a glimpse of the old man standing in the back room looking grumpy and tired, haha.
(below) Like I said, CHEAP! The kids had fun just looking/pretending at the video games in the Circus Circus arcade.
(below) And then we caught a few of the free shows.
They had a bunch of carnival games. We only played a few. Luckily the kids were able to take home a couple of stuffed animals they'd won. They love them to death.
We stayed at the Silverton Hotel, which is well of the strip and it is also attached to an insanely delicious buffet called Seasons. It is also attached to the incredible store, Outdoor World/Bass Pro Shop. One of the coolest places to visit and just walk around. There's a huge waterfall with a fish tank and aquarium, as well as a jelly fish aquarium. There are giant sharks hanging from the ceiling, as well as stuffed animals of almost anything you can think of, Moose, lions, deer, mountain lions, etc.

While mommy went to get food for the kiddies, I took some silly photos of them.
(below) The following day we went to check out a so called chocolate factory. Technically it was, but...it was just a gift shop leading to a hallway looking into two rooms which led to another chocolate gift shop. Still, at least we checked it off the list. Been there, done that. Oh yeah, and they had a cactus garden too, but it was blazing hot! So we ran to the car after taking a cute picture of the kids.
The true highlight of the entire trip had to be spending a couple of evenings at Granny Maxine's (Lizzy's 95 yr. old great-grandma!) She is awesome. We watched baseball on TV, the kids swam, I swatted some flies, we had pizza and played with the dogs. It was a blast.
